Speaking for my lunch

You've heard of singing for one's supper? Well, last week I spoke for my lunch! It was Thornton Antiquarian Society's annual lunch, and they invited me to be the post-lunch speaker. I talked about my two years living in China in the 1980s, when foreigners were viewed as more-or-less a different species.

My other talks are also getting booked up for next year (some organisations plan over a year ahead!), and this week I'm talking to the University of the 3rd Age in Bradford about some of the themes in my book, Bedbugs and Chamberpots. You can see the full range of my talks on my website.
