Progress report

I'm now officially on a semi-sabbatical so I can really work on the new book. Having done a lot of background reading I'm concentrating on some of the primary texts now - I've looked at Blyton, Malcolm Saville and M.E.Atkinson, and just moved on to Arthur Ransome. Oddly, he never really appealed to me when I was a kid, although the critics approved of him, unlike most of the others. That's a pity in one way, as I'm not getting the double perspective you get from reading as an adult something you enjoyed as a child. He's definitely got some interesting female characters though.
